The black sea boils and froths,
As the beast of the depths rise,
Its hundred arms of painful light,
It sends forth on the dias,
The spidery-ship keens back and fourth,
As curses are heard from the barrels,
The Rogue and Caracal toss the nets,
Intents on the under-dweller to carrel,
But, he! Beware it's lightning-arms,
Which flail from the mighty beast.
They tear apart the masts,
And shock to death their meat.
The Librarian-Captain raises the sea,
A wave of bones of creatures,
To crash upon the unnatural fiend,
As if a maw devouring a fritter.
The beast from under did sprout a mouth,
And tore across the deck,
It's gelatinous form a massive weight,
Nearly making the galleon a wreck.
Held on by its lethal arms,
Pulling the ship over the brine,
The monster's jaw tears at the ghost,
Before a blade rends him one at a time.
The Rogue severs the amorphous arms,
The Caracal shouts out "Ahoo!"
With a heave that shatters some barrels,
Down goes the seafaring bug-a-boo!
The mighty ship rights itself,
It's members quick to the bilge,
While several lie under on beds of down,
With sickness from the swildge.
