[Hermes]

A strange spirit wanders in, mist flowing behind him, an eerie whispering of voices clamoring at his every footstep. He carries with him two lanterns, and as he enters the camp, he sets one in the middle of this healing tent, and a noise like a voice, spoken in many whispers, can be heard.

"This lantern is an object of great power." The voice began, "Power not for mortal men. It will guide the souls of your fallen to me, and I will guide them to the life after. And do not be fooled, there will be many, many, dead before this is over. Suffering befalls you..."

The being vanished, leaving the lantern behind. It emitted a ghastly aura, and anyone who might come near suddenly felt the urge to run very quickly away.
