Subject 64
It was done with the best of intentions. Subject 64 was made to be the perfect person. We didn't expect it to end up like this...
"Doctor!"
That's what the first thing I remember, her screams awoke the whole lab. Then the smell came, the horrible reek of blood and punctured organs. It had torn her apart, piece by piece, holding no mercy for it's victims. Subject 64, who was made to be the perfect person in every way. Perfectly constructed DNA, to make the perfect physical form for it. Then years of carefully maintained care, education, and diet.
Who would have thought that in reality the perfect person was also the perfect killer...
It escaped. After cutting a bloody path through the lab It simply laughed at our terrified faces and left. Leaving us, the few survivors of It's rampage, to clean up and cover up our terrible mistake. The Doctor was in a terrible rage. She knew she had locked the doors, It shouldn't have been able to get out, It should have been completely trapped within It's room. She didn't help us clean up the bodies. She locked herself away in the main lab, looking over the data and security feeds. Trying to figure out where we went wrong.
It was later discovered that a young intern had opened the door to It's dwelling, surely thinking that it would be grateful to be freed, It was and showed it's appreciation by removing the young man's head and using it as a door stop for it's room.
Disgusting yes, but I can't help but think it was deserved. Yes of course, you think I'm a terrible person now don't you? Well, that young man was directly responsible for the deaths of 92 other people. If It hadn't don't it I'm sure one of us would have...
It wasn't until years later that I learned what had happened to Subject 64. Turns out it wasn't as crazy as we all had thought. Subject 64, now known as Delik Le'Delro, had made quite the name for himself in the business sector. Having used all the things we had gave him to the fullest, he now manufactures synthetic human organs and body parts. He's one of the richest men in the world now.
And us? We're still in the lab, creating, experimenting, hoping to create something better than Subject 64. So that when he least expects it, we will have our revenge...
First Meetings
Today was the first day Gallagher was introduced to the lab.
We've been told not to mention anything about his past, as it could prove to have disastrous. From what I've been told Gallagher is a blend of three different people, all of whom were victims of Subject 64.
Gallagher is probably one of the more interesting experiments that we've done here. Combining the DNA and physical forms of three people, all of different races and faiths, was and is one of our biggest success'. With a mix of ginger and blond hair, pink and blue eyes, and the odd patch work of skin colours and textures, Gallagher is indeed one unique looking creature. His brain power and reasoning is amazing. Combining the knowledge of a Doctor, scientist, and an orderly has made him not only smart but able to think so far out of the box that it has helped our research immensely.
Though I admit he does have some rather strange phobias....
I'm not sure which of the three had the fear of zombies but it's only been magnified since the blending. But really, it could be worse! he could be afraid of spiders. I mean there are so many in the lab since that nurse knocked over that container...
Ah! I get distracted so easily now a days! As I was saying, Gallagher has been a great help with our research. Not only is he willing to do anything to get a result, he actually has reasonably sound ideas on how to get the results we want.
Hopefully he'll be mentally stable long enough for us to finish our work. With his help we may be able to get ahead of schedule and finally take down Subject 64.
Human Duck
The New Doctor
We knew the time would come when we need someone new, we just never expected it to be so soon...
It was well into fall but before the first snow when it happened. And experiment broke free. There was nothing we could do for the Doctor. Subject 76 had made sure there was no way for us to bring him back, after all, without a head what could we do?
We'd been told who to call, how to make arrangements, where to hide next.
We destroyed anything we couldn't take with us, we burned the lab, our home for so many years. It was just ashes and dust now, there was nothing to find there, it was safer that way.
I have a feeling this was the work of Subject 64. There was no way 76 could have broken free without help, her tank had been on lock down for years, with reason...
We'd finally finished moving into the lab. It was underground this time, with an artificial forest growing overhead. This time we'd be getting a Scientist. The Doctor left all her research and people to a Scientist. None of us were sure what to feel, we didn't know this person. She wasn't the woman we'd all been working with for so long....
Nexess Pintaca
We weren't sure what to think at first. I mean, she is, or used to be, a subject. We basically made this person and now she was going to be heading our research...
Subject 36 was what we used to refer to her as. Her name now was Nexess Pintaca.
I remember her clearly, she was our first human subject, she'd been given to us by a friend of the Doctor's. When she'd first arrived her mental functions had been completely blank, there was no brain activity, nothing, she was a blank slate we could work with.
At the time we had been trying to devise a way to program the human brain. To be able to, in laments terms, download information and upload information to and from the brain.
The downloading was easy, we'd done that rather easily. Unfortunately when it came to uploading the information from the subject we'd hit a snag. You see, if the subject was unwilling to give up the information we simply could not upload it.
The Doctor had worked for weeks to try and fix the problem, but in the end it was something we could not fix. For even when we downloaded a command into the subjects brain, telling it to let us have the information, it would be rejected and ignored.
Subject 36 was a true genius though. Because after just a few short weeks she had convinced a nurse to release her from her rooms. Unlike Subject 64 though, 36 took her freedom quickly and quietly. By the time anyone had noticed she was gone it was already to later for us to catch her.
And now here she was. Messy purple hair, bloody red eyes, and perfectly pale skin. She was and is the only experiment with the ability to change her appearance at will. Being able to shift the bones in her face, change the colour of her skin, eyes, and hair. I'm now standing here, staring at her, wondering why she didn't hide from us. She could have walked in looking like anything, and yet she appears just as we last saw her. Expect for this time her eyes are smiling, laughing even, at us. Like a predator who's finally catch it's prey...
