:+.Moon Garden Party

Good evening one and all. I am Mr. Crescent, resident of the moon. It has come to my attention that there appears to be some sort of crystallization happening about, and it has peaked my interest. I do admire objects that shine, such as these tea lights.
I think I shall host a small garden party right here, with tea and moon cakes of course. There is plenty to go around.

Death by Mirrors 10-27-2019 05:04 AM

Oh, that seems like an excellent plan. What possibly could go wrong during a sophisticated garden party? I love this place already.

littl3chocobo 10-27-2019 07:07 AM

....what kind of tea though?

Death by Mirrors 10-27-2019 07:17 AM

Herbal, I think.

Stabbsworth 10-27-2019 11:40 AM

i am a feral scientist and i just like shiny things. unfortunately these are not edible.

Death by Mirrors 10-27-2019 03:18 PM

Actually the tea lights might be edible when not on fire. But I suspect the mooncakes taste better.

bluebird 10-27-2019 03:35 PM

mooon man

littl3chocobo 10-27-2019 04:28 PM

mooncakes can be shiny, i think we found a solution!

Merskelly Metalien 10-27-2019 05:04 PM

:] I like tea!
But are there any shrimp? :/

DreadedMartian 10-27-2019 05:37 PM

Ah a nice cup of tea and mooncakes. Just what I need to get me through the day.

Although shrimp sounds really good right now lol

Stabbsworth 10-27-2019 05:41 PM

i cannot change thise

Death by Mirrors 10-27-2019 05:47 PM

Not into a shrimp mood right now, but fried squid rings would be cool.

Stabbsworth 10-27-2019 05:49 PM

onion rings, tho.

DreadedMartian 10-27-2019 05:56 PM

Oh yes Squid sounds delicious!

Stabbsworth 10-27-2019 05:58 PM

fish and cheese doesn't always go together well.

DreadedMartian 10-27-2019 06:31 PM

Your not wrong Void...sounds to me like a match made in heaven

Dear lord I'm hungry lol

Stabbsworth 10-27-2019 07:29 PM

mdom 10-27-2019 07:45 PM

what are we eating here?

Stabbsworth 10-27-2019 07:48 PM

currently wondering if there's gonna be more sets of items tbh.

Merskelly Metalien 10-27-2019 09:02 PM

o.o I actually wonder how moon cake actually tastes as I've never had it I think. :D It's a lunar festival treat, unless I'm wrong. :c Not Asian tho, so, I can't really confirm celebrating the lunar new year.

Kitalpha Hart 10-27-2019 09:03 PM

I wonder how similar it is to the moon pies I see selling in stores

Stabbsworth 10-27-2019 09:24 PM

i vaguely want a moon pie.

Merskelly Metalien 10-27-2019 09:27 PM

:] I like Pumpkin Pie. <3 Pumpkin Pie is nice.

Stabbsworth 10-27-2019 09:28 PM

are the moon pies tastey

Mr. Crescent 10-27-2019 10:13 PM

Oh goodness me, there are still Moon Pies in existence? Hasn't Hostess become somewhat of a larger name in marketing their sugary goods by now?

Witchchylde 10-27-2019 10:22 PM

I went looking for moon shrimp, apparentlythey're meant to be biolumiescent, so they'd fill a number of roles at this tea party, particularly as moonshrimp cakes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_shrimp_cake

mdom 10-27-2019 10:22 PM

where's espy to ask about mooncakes

Biomecha 10-27-2019 10:25 PM

I didn't get a chance to look for mooncakes in time to try, I wonder if there's still a chance to find some after the festival?

Okay moon pies and moon cakes are different

Death by Mirrors 10-28-2019 04:07 AM

I've had a small moon cake once in an asian food store. Filled with bean paste and some type of seeds or crushed nuts. It was sweet and slightly salty at the same time.

yes

Stabbsworth 10-28-2019 11:55 AM

they both look delicious.

DreadedMartian 10-28-2019 04:55 PM

Oh yeah Moon Cakes are magical. Soft texture in the middle but not nearly as sweet as moon pies lmao I think it's made with bean paste and other things to make it sweet and flavorful. I didn't think bean paste would taste so good. I was happily wrong.

Biomecha 10-28-2019 05:08 PM

I know I've had some things made with bean paste and I've liked it, but not really sure what it was. It was a more of a doughy roll filled with it.

DreadedMartian 10-28-2019 05:13 PM

omg was it....what's that called...Daifuku?? I think....The dough was mochi? I've always wanted to try it!

Biomecha 10-28-2019 05:19 PM

It was a wheat based dough. Actually, I might have tried both. But there definitely was also a wheat one.

littl3chocobo 10-28-2019 06:51 PM

unpopular opinion; not really into mooncakes. they are not a flavor i am into i just find them pretty

Merskelly Metalien 10-28-2019 07:03 PM

They are rather intricate, and pretty. :] Maybe I'll try one once they come back into the holiday season. ^-^ I have a couple Asian bakeries around where I live. Ah, has anyone heard of 85°?? :D

littl3chocobo 10-28-2019 07:03 PM

sorry, no. is it a local bakery?

Merskelly Metalien 10-28-2019 07:05 PM

:/ Mmm, lemme check...
looks like there are only locations in California, Texas and Washington State. :d
