I mean yeah… maybe like Canada but most airlines won't let some kid travel unaccompanied. Any minor traveling alone internationally must have written consent on hand with both parents and a guardian from gate to gate. Typically they are escorted but if 15 and over can be left on their own between first departure and final touch down but have to have a guardian at pick up.
It is weird but basically you CAN but not really. Up until 14 you are typically babysat (with a hefty fee) by the airport staff and FAs. 15 to 17 you can be left alone but have to have a permission note and guardian at gate to gate pick up. How many kids do you know that travel unaccompanied international?

I've traveled enough that I could have easily made a flight to Taiwan by myself when I was like...12.

Our airlines allow teenagers to fly unaccompanied actually. I don't know however if the US would let me in as an unattended minor without any guardian at the gate (last time I checked, a year or two ago, they had some weird regulations on who can and can not enter). Thankfully I'm over 18 indeed, so better get that tea ready :P

...Now I feel old for having been able to fly from Omaha to Olathe, KS, when the sibling and I were ~10-11 at the time.

I was on a long hiatus and I wasn't there for the Victorian Vestment.
Can I bid too? I can also do trade, so you can have more other items for more auctions. ^^
