I'd suggest spreading it out on a bigger tray instead of a bowl, so he has to lick more than gobble. But then again it also means the food will dry out and get yucky much sooner, which is a fate I do not wish upon any cat.

shrugs.
we don't have that sort of stuff, just cat bowls. whisky is also a very chatty little lad. a fluffball, too. percival is busy being queer as hell. he was also here.

We just feed our cat on a plate because if she brushes her whiskers along the side of the bowl she won't eat. I'm not sure if it hurts or is just irritating to her, but she won't eat unless it is on a flat surface.

something something whisker fatigue. basically the cat gets overloaded bc of the whiskers brushing against the side of the bowl.

I figured it was something like that since they use their whiskers as a sensory organ.

I don't think they care what type of bowl it is in so long as the food is plentiful and they can eat it comfortably.
My parents have a dog that used to be afraid of her water bowl though. When she was little she stepped on the edge and bonked herself on the nose with it. After the nose bonking she wouldn't drink out of that bowl ever again. Answer my riddle to earn a prize!

It has been years since that happened and she still won't drink out of that bowl. Our other dog and the cat will, but not Bluie.

I only have the one cat (monster) for now bc my apartment won't let me get more :( but my long term plan is to save up for a house and start fostering (and probably failing) cats
