Poofy Petticoat/Skirt progress: working on gathering the first tier, will attach to the waistband after. Then it will be time to gather the second tier to fit to the first tier... then the third tier to the second...
So. Much. Gathering. I use She/Her and They/Them pronouns.

It's not a pattern so much as me going "I bet I could turn all these old curtains into a petticoat."
I use She/Her and They/Them pronouns.

Made my first fitted/shaped (as opposed to the pleated style) mask today! It's a tiny bit small because I made my seams a little bigger than the pattern called for on accident. But it still fits.

Nice! That looks a lot better than the ones I see for sale.
I've finally got a functioning prototype my father is testing out, so hopefully I can crank out some better ones soon. It's a different style, though.

Thanks!
It's definitely got some bad stitching on the sides where the elastic attaches, but I'll get better at that with practice and might also invest in some little clips to use instead of pins. (I've heard they're actually easier to use for masks.) I also need to pick up a seam ripper because I can't find mine and I attempted another mask tutorial that had the elastic hooked together to go around the back of the head and I thought that style might work well for at work, but I did the elastic too small so I'm going to undo the sides just enough to get one end of the elastic free, trim the elastic and then stitch it back up again to just do the normal ear straps.

this is the main style of my masks... it goes from my nose to chin, and it's pretty much up against my face. really the only space in there is right under my nose.
Kaderin, you might recognize the fabric....

I've been using little binder clips, but did eventually get some wonder clips. I like the tension they have so far, but haven't used them much yet.
Ohh, you lined it up well. Getting a good fit seems to be the tricky part.

10/10 on lining that fabric up i'm not patient enough to do that. XD
I'm just slowly working on cutting mask parts and pining them so they're ready to go. Due to minimal counter space, I'm gonna try prepping a bunch so I can streamline the process and make several masks at once instead of having to move my sewing machine to press seams one at a time. Bio: Would kill for even binder clips right now probably. I have sewing pins and regular paper clips, but nothing very useful. XD If we haven't sold out again, I can pick up some wonder clips on Wednesday though.

i've tweaked my pattern a few times, too.
i use straight pins. I've been poked far too many times... LOL there's a more proper pic back here...

I am absolutely struggling hard at the whole "sewing on the elastic without my machine throwing a tantrum" part of masks. May have to resort to hand sewing for that, though it probably won't look any prettier than what my machine does to it...
