Woo! Learning a new language because a friend talked me into it even though I'll probably never have need to use it outside of talking with aforementioned friend! Lol.

So, I went thrift shopping earlier this week... and scored an honest-to-gods American Girl doll at a 97.5% discount (she was 4.98 at the store. her type [non-historical] of doll normally retails for $115!). So now I have a friend who can share some clothes with Taryn, my Maplelea Girl!

~Weird, saw a post saying someone was sick. I don't know if it got deleted, edited, or the site decided to show me a not new post. Seems to happen a lot.

That was me and Port Aux Basques English several years ago. I barely remember it now days. Though for awhile I knew enough to corrupt Den with.

So when you click into a thread on here (from the "active threads" list thingy on the front page anyway), it shows the last page you posted on in that thread first. So it was probably an old post a few pages back.

Huh. I've never heard of Port Aux Basques English.

But I've gotten really good at basic pleasantries in Irish. Stuff like "How are you? "I'm good, thanks. And you?"
And also "sure", "yes", "no", "please", and the Irish version of my cats names (Shade and Batty) as well.

It's the version of the Gaelic flavoured English of Newfoundland that comes from the town of Port Aux Basques!

Ugh....gotta try to get everything together and finished for the D&D movie on Sunday. A handful of us from the library are all going together and are dressing up and I keep misplacing costume items (my rings, my faux corset, etc.) and still gotta figure out/finish my updated cape.

Everything is organized and ready to go. (And sitting on my mannequin right now except for the leggings, boots, fancy claw rings, elf ears, and belt pouch.)
Just waiting until closer to my friend picking me up to put it all on as I ended up sewing the pauldrons to the dress to keep them in place and I don't really want to sit around in it for several hours and risk the cats or myself damaging anything.
