I might have to classify the items, like event, monthlies, etc. once the list grows but I'm clueless (unless I can simply tell by, multiple colors but not so many different poses = event; multiple poses = monthly?)

Azure is a monthly, from before 4 color combos per item was the standard.

Hope Box is a special beta item from the start of the site and such.

Skeleton is an event item only available to users that participated in like a game type thing, it wasn't available for purchase the usual way.

event items generally only have 3 colors and not many poses, maybe 3 options (like how shoes come both feet or only left or only right, or pets get 3 diff poses. more than that is rare)

monthlies from the last couple years have at least 4 color options, but older ones will have only 3. they also tend to have 10+ pose options. they're most easily confused with yearlies and anka egg items. so when in doubt, ask someone that already has the item in question. they'll probably know.
