NAME: sedrex "rex" kane AGE: fifty-something HEIGHT: 5'8" WEIGHT: 180 lbs SEX/GENDER: cis male ORIENTATION: ace ALIGNMENT: chaotic evil
PERSONALITY: "If y'ain't human, I'll blow you to bits. If you is human, I'll get what's good - then blow you to bits."
Cold, delusional, only has love for machines
BIO: Rex grew up with god fearing, alien cocksucking parents. They lived in fear, as his grandparents did. Though most of his childhood had been blocked out or rewired, he did remember the stories his mother used to tell him. Mum told him stories of Earth and how it used to be alone in the universe. She would tell him that Earth was chosen by the gods to be among them now.
In his opinion, the Earth had become a destitute whore who harbored viruses and scum. He had no desire to interact with these so-called gods. He didn't speak until his early teens, spent most of his life focused on machinery and weapons. By the time he was seventeen, he was recruited into the largest military Earth had ever seen. One incident later and he was deemed unfit to serve. Hell, he could've told them that. He told them the first day of training that he just wanted to kill things and burn 'em. Suppose they didn't realize that included teammates.
Nowadays he hobbles around an underground bomb shelter, converted into a mechanic's wet dream. He scraps all and any types of metal, even stuff that falls from the sky. He makes money by selling specialty grenades, EMPs, anti-matter rays, drones and service bots. Most of his money comes from black market deals and illegal contracts with the military. They covered up his little accident, and as long as they keep him on honorable discharge, he keeps on doing what he's doing. Little do they know that he's also been keeping a girl hostage and subjecting her to horrendous experiments. Since he could only upgrade himself so much, he needed an easy target to subdue.
He took her as a child and has been constantly rewiring and upgrading her. He thrives off of her pleas for death. Though he can't wait for the day he actually kills her, he enjoys the time of her suffering. It acts as a reminder of his own internal damage that will never resurface.
PERSONALITY: "Feed from the light, die by the light, feed from the light, die by the light."
Programmed to follow all of Sedrex's requests, believes she is a machine, Stockholm syndrome, curious about humans, thinks that Sedrex is planning a rebellion, hungry for justice
BIO: She doesn't remember her parents. They are like a blur in the back of her mind. Most likely because they didn't exist - not to her. Her memory banks have been tainted by human entertainment. Rex allows her limited access to the internet and the outside. She was taken when she was seven years old. She doesn't remember being a child. She has always been like this. She carves sharp objects into her skin whenever she questions herself. Sometimes she pulls up blood, other times only metal is exposed. Either way, it proves to her that she is an immaculate machine designed by the good heart of her master.
Sin is scarred and brawny and her heart is as big as a lion's. And yet, she is kept in Sedrex's hole. Parts of her want to escape. She assumes that this is due to a malfunction in her hardware. Whenever these urges resurface, she asks for tinkering. This is the only affection needed from her master, or from anyone. Sinder is fed periodically through a tube, though she believes that she doesn't eat. The food is extremely efficient, providing minimal waste and high metabolic nutrition to keep her alive. Sometimes pain is the only thing that makes her question what separates her from humanity. Whenever the updates must occur, she obliges. Each time she comes out different. But only in those moments of intense pain does she wonder what is beneath her metal plates, that maybe there is human somewhere inside.
If she were human, would master Rex still want her? She deletes the idea from her mind, yet it constantly pops up. She overrides it with her mission drive. She must protect master Rex, she must obey master Rex, she must listen when he speaks. He's always speaking to her through code. There is a reason she exists, isn't there?
“Who are you?" he asked.
I am the future supreme overseer of this world, at the very least. You may refer to me as Her Greatness, Hexeri, for the next five minutes. After that you may refer to me as Aaaaarrrrgh, hold your throat, die screaming, and so on.”
When the Earth was inevitably moved, and sent off into the other side of a parallel universe, the planet had the misfortune of being located in the same solar system in which a roaming Vizizian liberation crusade was traveling, the sheer anomolies from a sudden planet just appearing in the void of space causing ship sensors to nearly short-circuit with overloaded readings. Naturally, with hesitation and fear at such a large mass approaching, the Vizizian beat a rather hasty retreat (Much to their embarassment later on), the mass exodus out of the system sloppy and riddled with all manner of logistical errors. In the heat of a panicked retreat, several units of Vizizian troops were reported as lost to the cold of space.
Hexeri was from one of those units presumed to be swallowed by the inky black of space, when in actuality, she had simply been flying a routine scouting mission when Earth had suddenly appeared. It simply the luck of the draw that had given the woman a chance of staying alive when her ship inevitably crashed into the oceans; Earthen governments rushing in to both apprehend and examine the ship and the being inside for any sort of information. Several months at a government black site later, and Hexeri was released to the populace as an involuntary citizen; her ship seized by the Earthlings, and her government simply refusing to vouch for her return or her claim to her own property - Citing that had she been a better pilot, she wouldn't have been captured and held hostage by the newly found humans.
Alone, and the sole representation of her species on Earth, Hexeri has been rather...Noncomplient with the terms that she was given for staying on Earth. The woman seems to hold a rather invader-esque train of thought while the government pays for her being on the world, with constant claims of ruling the planet as an overseer, or threats about planetary annihilation, all the while smiling and playing nice with the 'Simple-minded, weak' humans that shower her with gifts and appease her in return for another day of living (IE: Free government benefits)
Hexeri has, however. Been given a companion in return for doing various bits of work and assignment for the Earthlings - A small parasite-afflicted human that goes by the name of Riddell. The two seemingly getting along for the moment...
“Perfect replication is the enemy of any robust system... Lacking a central nervous system—much less a brain the parasite is a simple system designed to compromise a very specific target host. The more uniform the host, the more effective the Infestation.”
Riddell was born as nothing more than a simple urban youth; the child the product of domestic abuse and poverty, and a penchant for getting in trouble. Often regaled with stories about the Earth before it got more or less misplaced, Riddell seems to have grown more and more vicious and jealous of the older generations for being able to lead more luxurious lives back in the day, instead of having to constantly dig and scrap for food and any support of supplies he could pilfer in the underground markets. Of course, dealing in those markets have serious repercussions at times. Riddell had purchased a small pallet of meals from some form of alien down on the cheap, and didn't know the food was tainted - the boy chowing down and suffering no ill effects until several days later.
What started off as what he thought was the flu turned into something more drastic and dangerous. An increasing appetite that seemed only to be satiated with meat overcame his mind, and the human lost massive amounts of weight. Doctors who were brought in could find no source for such a plague and began to prescribe him a wdie variety of broad-spectrum antibiotics, to no avail. Battery after battery of tests left him with no results until one lucky medical expert had discovered something abnormal about his internal organs. Namely the fact they were alive, and slowly eating his normal human systems, replacing them with their own body mass to keep their host alive.
Left with the news that the parasite seems to have complete control over his internal anatomy, Riddell has more or less just accepted the grim fate of being some other being's eventual lunch. While the beast seems more or less placated with him for now, there's no guarantees that it will stay the same, and the amount of nutrition and vitamins that he has to imbibe to keep the creature from simply eating his insides has been steadily increasing. Suicide became a more likely choice of ending the situation, until he realized the creature did after all give him some impressive trade-offs in return.
It's a lackluster life, but Riddell has signed up with the Earthen government for the same reason almost everyone else does. Food, shelter and a bit of safety in return for work - Riddell stuck with keeping an eye on an alien named Hexeri, to make sure her constant threats of invasion are just hot talk. Though the human more and more seems to enjoy the idea of watching everyone else under the boot of the might of Hexer's people.

Venomous-
The parasite has caused him to develop two venom glands, one on either side of his palate, which produce fairly powerful hemotoxic venom. If he chooses to inject venom in a bite, and he must consciously chose to do this, two needle like ‘fangs’ slide out of hidden pockets in the roof of his mouth behind his teeth to deliver the venom. A bite carries anywhere between a quarter to two tablespoons. Not sure what hemotoxic venom does? Google it.
Regeneration-
This one is largely dependent on the mood of the parasite and the severity of the injury in question. A well fed, happy, parasite will heal all surface wounds at the drop of a hat and rebuild broken or missing limbs in a matter of days. A bitter, malnourished parasite will only heal the most grievous of wounds and rebuilding broken or missing limbs takes significantly longer.
Enhanced Stamina-
Jokes about staying power aside; this is perhaps the most terrifying of the parasite’s ‘gifts’. Riddell doesn’t tire easily and persists well after a normal adversary would’ve given up. He can carry out taxing physical tasks for hours, sometimes days, without the need for rest and has been known to openly ‘stalk’ and intended target for days before making the kill.
"I just want to come home," said the Astronaut. "So come home," said Ground Control. "ï¼³ï½ ï½ƒï½ï½ï½… hï½ï½ï½…," said the Voice from the Stars.
“And he goes around killing people?†said Mort.
He shook his head. “There’s no justice.â€
Death sighed. NO, he said,... THERE'S JUST ME.
