*points to Az*
It is the shortened form of のです -> んです and is used when we answer a question/explain something in casual form. "Doko e iku no?" "Kooen e ikun da/desu."

OMG I GOT IT? LoL
So my Japanese exam was fail. I think I passed just fine, actually I think as long as you understood what she was asking and could answer in some way, she counted it as correct. >_> I always get tripped up between "koukou" and "koko" when talking ;-; so that happened, but whatever. 'Tis a picture of Tokyo I took. ^^ I'm a girl. I love Writing Tools, and KPop, and minty stuffs.

Yep, you got it.
And there's honestly only so much studying at school can help you. Actual repeated practice (and imitation) is really the best way to learn languages, I believe.

I know. School helps you with the basics, gives you somewhere to start, but only real immersion can /teach/ you.

See that's kind of the impression I got from my teacher but she has met with teachers all over the state before at a convention and they all say that is one of the hardest things to explain about the languages.
I also know the のです. She briefly explained that it was the shortened form of it. But thank you Az and ash. I think I get it a little better. If I end of up using it wrong, I will be told so by my friends. ^^

Ugh I am thankful to have this one friend of mine. She got accepted to a few schools in Japan and she's giving me some of the information to go through the process. I don't need to for a while, still, but I'm still happy that I don't have to start from scratch.

It's good for your to start researching it now. That way, you know exactly what you'll be getting into when you go.

@az:
UGH!! I STILL HAVE LIKE 3 WEEKSSSSSSSSS!!!! and another UGH! I'm going for next year april/oct. and im starting from scratch and its HELL! i have a lot of websites im going to to find help and funding and schools and whatnot. Right now I need to get money and funds secured then apply. BUT if I go through my CC's program which sadly is only for one quarter its about 7k and the programs that I would do are about double that for a year or 2. so... i dont think imma do that BUT if i did it would mean I would be able to get FAFSA applied to it. so idk. i think imma just hold onto my fafsa that i get in fall and winter and try to do a sister-school private one. cause those allow you to keep your fafsa, get credit, go to the sister city and take classes, etc etc

Good luck, Shink! <3
Yesterday a girl in my Japanese class said "雨をふとています” XD We teased her cause it was supposed to just be "ふって” So she was saying that the rain is fat, rather than it is raining. 'Tis a picture of Tokyo I took. ^^ I'm a girl. I love Writing Tools, and KPop, and minty stuffs.

XD she just got the verbs mixed up. I thought it was hilarious.
A group of three Japanese girls were sitting across from me earlier while I was waiting for class, and I /so/ wanted to say something but I didn't know what/didn't want to butt in. ;-; 'Tis a picture of Tokyo I took. ^^ I'm a girl. I love Writing Tools, and KPop, and minty stuffs.
