I love feedback! :D I only have one poem so far with mature themes and it, as well as any others I might write in the future, will be marked in the table of contents below! also, you can read all of my poems on my tumblr here: http://lysate.tumblr.com/tagged/poetry Table of Contents

a perfect body
I saw but twice the first pressed ‘gainst mine and the second glimpsed just in passing and a perfect mind I’ve yet to find we all have problems darling, yes we all have our catches I have tasted once the perfect soul yet its fleeting scent escapes me now you were too fragile there is no pure thing has not been touched 'midst the sin and strife of this foul world we must call our home yet there is still love and hope, and faith and there is beauty music, sweet things green tea and poetry

bearing the cold air
as we fed the crows wasting peanuts on scavengers that certainly would not hunger for lack of your care but I said nothing because it made you happy and you needed something to care for in lieu of your birds and other creatures only just since left your auspice leaving you alone except for the crows that we fed your mother and me.

words are for poets,
writers and authors of which we both are. smiths of the language with the quill our arm, ink our munition, the page our front line where battles are fought. but we don’t need words where we’re going. silence is enough, for you from myself. I wield words with an art long forgotten; subtle and restrained like spice in the cake, where yours are more like the starch that binds it. but we don’t need words where we’re going. the noise can’t describe what words don’t define. as much as I search, answers I can’t find. but the music is still ever so sweet with lyrics from tongue foreign to my ears. 'cause we don't need words where we’re going words are like shadows; why bother looking for what won’t be found? we may never know what to call it, but I know what I want: whatever we have, wherever it goes. so we don’t need words— no, not even one— we’ll never need words where we’re going.

a loving embrace, a kiss on the cheek
one last caress as our eyes meet an ache that is burning beyond the veil this is the end, though I know not a final farewell, said without saying intentions spoke without words, but we’ll never need words, no longer, no more no, we don’t need words where we’ve gone

you’re a tower on a hill
standing tall in the present looking out to the future you impress the solidity of a sturdy pillar but we don’t see what’s inside you’re a ruin and a wreck you’re leaning into the wind you’re holding onto the last thread of the rope you hang from they came to you for shelter you opened up just for them they promised they’d stay but they always leave eventually like passing transients but you are the tower still standing lonely on the hill weathering every storm that batters against your tough walls and rattles the windows your foundation never shifts no you will never fall down you’ll stay upright till the end because the world from your vantage is still yours yet to take mortar the bricks in your walls patch up the holes with plaster rearrange the furniture make room for the next visitor this one might even stay
