It is entirely possible that it is Firefox itself then. I've never had any trouble with it as a browser, then again I haven't used it for quite some time. It could also be something that is booting itself up when Firefox starts as well.
Try what Ashy is suggesting while you have everything running that you normally do and that should allow you to find the culprit. Yes I have used the windows task manager.
AVG only eats some CPU (not as much as firefox) when scanning. It wasn't scanning. If was the Firefox process. D: And I always have what I run normally running. Messenger, browser, and avg (not scanning). I rarely run anything else. And it's still firefox when it shouldn't be...and disabling the AVG toolbar like firefox suggested doesn't do a thing. But either way, I now have Google chrome which eats less cpu. | ||||
